Water Supply and Conservation
We have been focusing on water supply and conservation. This was relevant to us because of the recent drought in Palmerston North.
Our Stem challenge was to research, design, create and refine a water tower. Our tower needed to hold rainwater and have a valve so that we can release water from the tank.
Sphero Design STEM Challenge
We have been learning about the problem with plastic pollution in our waters and the sea. Students have been designing and testing ways to use a Sphero robot to collect rubbish in the water. We made our first prototype and tested it, then we were able to make changes to our design and test our Mark 2 prototypes another day. There are some great examples of student creativity here and our understanding floatation has really increased!
