Celebrating our Fuel Your Body Meal Challenge

It's taken a week to put this altogether but here's a sneak peek at some of our sharing for our Haepapa Assembly this week: a slideshow of all the pics that were sent through to Ms Matangi from our Fuel Your Body Meal Challenge... as you can see: everyone did really well in thinking about how to create meals that fit the healthy food plate (1/2 fruit/veg; 1/4 protein; 1/4 grains/starchy veg and a side of dairy)... and as you can see: we couldn't have done it without all the fantastic parents that came and helped us (and Mr Broodryk: official taste tester!).

Enjoy...

Kia ora parents and whānau,

  • This week we are starting a new big idea for our Maths: Solving Problems with Data.
  • This week we are starting our inquiries and working towards our big task for Fuel Your Body... so please check in with your child about what they are going to do to inform whānau and community about how to keep their bodies the healthiest they can be.
  • On Wednesday it is the PTA Pizza Lunch.
  • Also on Wednesday this week is the Year 5/6 Interschool Cross Country.  Please check with your child to see if they are attending as notices have been sent home with those selected today.
  • On Friday, our Year 5s in Kapa Haka will be heading to Pae Tamariki at the Regent.  Please don't forget that they need to dropped off at the Regent by 8.20am.  If you have any questions, please contact Pou Becs or Mr Hobbs.
  • On Friday Haepapa will be hosting our assembly for term 2... we look forward to seeing you all there.
  • Don't forget to remind your child to make sure their devices are fully charged at the start of the day and to bring their device chargers every day please.
  • Also below is our weekly Maths homework task (in colour so it makes sense)...

Rātaka o te Wā: What's on for week 6...

Check out Slide 3 below for Rataka o te Wiki: Week 5, Term 2

Kia ora parents and whānau,

We hope you all had an enjoyable long weekend!
  • Thanks so much to all of those parents that supported with our Cycle Safety Road Ride and our Healthy Meal challenge last week - it was very much appreciated.  Thanks to all for supporting kids to get their bikes to school each day.
  • It may be a good idea to bring a change of clothes to wear especially for fitness each day and for those kids wanting to play games on the field which is still very muddy.
  • School Cross Country is on this Friday at the Ashhurst Domain.  Children should come to school in school uniform, with a change of clothes and shoes (including house t-shirts if students wish) to change into for running.  Children may also bring extra warm clothing.  Students should have a packed lunch and water bottle.   Please also see below for more details...
  • Don't forget to remind your child to make sure their devices are fully charged at the start of the day and to bring their device chargers every day please.
Nga mihi,
Haepapa Pod Teachers
